The new Flex-Drive system in EuroSort’s booth (Booth 1541) can enable bomb bay and push tray sorters to climb and descend. In addition to changing elevations to accommodate different facility layouts, the new drive (an Innovation Award entry) also allows for sorters to be infinitely long and make both left- and right-hand turns, said Greg Meyer, VP of sales and marketing.
“One of the biggest advantages of the Flex-Drive is it inherently prevents downtime,” Meyer said. “Each sorter is driven by a set of Flex-Drives distributed along the full length; if a drive fails or needs maintenance, that specific drive can be taken offline without stopping production.”
The solution is ideal for high-volume operations with a large number of sort destinations, including retail, e-commerce, pharmaceutical and postal distribution. EuroSort is also showing a push tray sorter that Meyer described as “entry-level,” as well as a high-density sweeper sorter. Additionally EuroSort parent company USS has a tote and carton handling system on display.
