With the continual expansion of the global economy—and the supply chain reach required to support it—ProMat 2015 expects more than 2,800 attendees from nearly 100 countries.
The largest groups of registrants represent Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, explained Tom Carbott, senior VP of exhibitions for show sponsor MHI. Among those groups, two official delegations from China and Brazil are slated to attend.
“The show itself has nearly 250 exhibitors with internationally located headquarters, so attendees can expect to hear many languages other than English spoken on the show floor,” he said.
No matter where they hail from, all foreign visitors will find a variety of amenities in the MHI-sponsored International Visitors Center, just a few steps away from the entrance to the show. The center offers a variety of services, including several translators to help answer questions in at least seven languages: French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. Also available are private meeting rooms, Wi-Fi Internet access and a lounge area with refreshments.
Additionally, the International Matchmaker Program will help foreign attendees maximize personal contacts with exhibitor companies by matching product, country and type of business information with registration details. Powered by a database, this free service pairs exhibiting companies interested in exporting their products with international importers. Personalized results can be obtained at the International Visitors Center.
ProMat 2015 is scheduled to be held March 23-26, 2014 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2015 coverage.
