On Monday, March 23 at ProMat 2015, MHI’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) will host a Meet and Greet networking reception in Room S103a of McCormick Place South. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Open to current and prospective members of the group, pre-registration is not required. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, along with a selection of wine and beers.
Additionally, the group is unveiling two new YPN Awards at ProMat, honoring materials handling and supply chain professionals in the categories of outstanding young professional and outstanding mentor. Finalists were selected from a pool of applicants in February, and the winners will be announced at MHI’s 70th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday evening.
The YPN group—whose mission is to provide resources and programming to professionals who wish to advance their careers in the industry—launched in January 2013. It is open to anyone in the fields of materials handling, logistics and supply chain. Interest in the group and its educational and networking opportunities has grown steadily since its inception, said Devon Birch, MHI’s director of membership and YPN coordinator.
“The YPN-hosted webinars have shown a marked increase in attendance, and we’ve had continuous growth in participation during our in-person networking sessions at MHI’s Annual Conference,” said Birch. “Further, we’re continuing to partner with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) for our second-annual Emerging Leaders Conference, to be held at the end of July 2015 in Chicago. The first one drew a huge crowd, and we anticipate even higher numbers this year.”
ProMat 2015 is scheduled to be held March 23-26, 2014 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2015 coverage.
