Compact battery compartment option for 4-wheel truck

The 8-series of four-wheel AC electric lift trucks from Toyota—with 4,000 and 5,000 pound capacities—may now be specified with a compact, 27-inch battery compartment to facilitate maneuvering in narrow, 12-foot aisles and to accommodate tight turning radius requirements.

The slim compartment configuration houses either a 36-volt or 48-volt battery.

Because of the smaller battery size used and the lower charger output required, the vehicle saves on initial battery and charger costs. Without compromising travel or lift speeds, the compact option offers the performance of an AC-powered system, including extended battery shift life, reduced downtime between charges and a virtually maintenance-free system.
