Now including expanded functionality, the RapidPick goods-to-person order fulfillment system for piece-pick applications is offered from Dematic.
The system consists of an engineered workstation that automatically rotates containers of SKUs in and out so that the operator can efficiently perform order fulfillment tasks. Typically integrated with an inventory staging buffer that stores and delivers SKUs to a workstation for order fulfillment, the updates include modular pick stations that give an operator the ability to put items to multiple orders, with configurations including 1:6, 1:12 and 1:24.
Additionally, the system can now handle cartons, in addition to totes, to reduce process steps and allow complete orders to travel directly to the shipping area. To accommodate a variety of load types, the inventory-staging engine that supports the pick station with inventory can interface with multiple staging buffers.
